Committees
Campaigns
The PCO/Area Organizing Committee is led by 1st Vice Chair Reuben Powell, and supports recruitment of, and trains, organizes and assists Precinct Committee Officers in the discharge of their duties. This Committee shall establish Area Organizing Subcommittees (AOS) to advance PCO recruitment and involvement in the Organization. To participate, contact Reuben Powell through the Officers page.
The Endorsements Committee is a five-member panel appointed by the Chair as outlined in the District Bylaws. The committee is led by Joe Stegner.
The Caucus and Elections Committee shall plan, organize and hold the Democratic presidential and state caucus proceedings in the District, and shall coordinate Organization efforts on public elections with the KCDCC and WSDCC. This committee will be formed as-needed, with its leadership appointed by the District Chair.
Communications
The Communications Committee shall oversee the preparation all Organization communications, including the website, newsletter, emails, and any necessary mailings or invitations. This community is led by the Technology Officer John Bunn and District Chair Jennifer Sutton. To join, please contact them through the Officers page.
Fundraising & Events Committee
This committee is led by 2nd Vice Chair Mary Kanter.
This committee seeks to promote and support the 5th Legislative District through activities designed to support ongoing District activities, increase our visibility, promote goodwill, and raise political awareness within the community.
This includes various fundraisers, the annual Summer Picnic, and participation in local activities including fairs, parades, and coordination with the Issues in American Democracy (IAD) Discussion Group. The IAD Discussion Group is hosted by Pam Austin. Bob Innis is in charge of the Summer Picnic, and Bob Nelson leads our efforts to promote the District at community events (e.g. Salmon Days) and farmers' markets with the 5th LD "Booth for Truth."

Legislative
The By-Laws & Rules Committee prepares and recommends modifications of the by-laws and rules to the Executive Board and the Membership. This committee is formed on an as-needed basis, with the District Chair appointing the Committee Chair.
The Legislative ActionCommittee works with the King County Democrats to research and inform the Membership and the people of the 5th Legislative District regarding proposed legislation placed before any legislative body having jurisdiction within the District. This information will be disseminated on the District website and/or via newsletter.
